How to improve ZowieCam temperature/fan sound

In order to meet the needs of different users in different usage scenarios, the new generation of ZowieCam has added fan control options.

Please log in to the web console and click Setting to view the current hardware version of ZowieCam. Hardware versions 4.x.7, 4.x.11, 4.x.y.02 (x:1~4) can control the fan speed.

Click Setting->System->System to set the fan mode.

Silent mode, standard mode and performance mode to meet different usage scenarios.

The lower the temperature control, the greater the fan noise.

After software version 1.1.0.5, users can also adjust the fan mode directly in the Dashboard.

Under normal circumstances, ZowieCam can work normally when the CPU temperature below 75℃.

Log in to the ZowieCam webpage and view the CPU temperature of the device in the Dashboard.

The normal operation of the ZowieCam depends on the stable operation of the CPU. When the CPU temperature exceeds 75℃, the following problems may occur:

Degraded system performance: The camera may experience screen freezes and delays

Degraded system stability: High temperature may cause the system to automatically restart or freeze, resulting in work interruption.

Shortened hardware life: Long-term high temperature operation will accelerate CPU aging and shorten the camera life.

Overheating of the CPU is usually caused by the following factors:

Excessive ambient temperature

Poor ventilation: The air circulation at the camera installation location is not smooth, and the heat cannot be dissipated in time.

In order to avoid problems caused by high CPU temperature, users are advised to take the following measures:

Control the ambient temperature: Try to install the camera in a cool and ventilated place to avoid direct sunlight. If necessary, use air conditioners, fans and other equipment to reduce the ambient temperature.

Ensure good ventilation: Sufficient heat dissipation space should be reserved around the camera to avoid blocking the vents.

Notes:

  1. When using ZowieCam, do not place ZowieCam directly on a flat surface to prevent blocking the air inlet and outlet.
  2. When using a bracket, make sure there is a certain gap between the bracket and ZowieCam to prevent blocking the air inlet and affecting heat dissipation.
