How to use ZowieAPI with Bitfocus Campanion and Stream Deck for scheduled recording

Method 1:

1. Open the Companion launcher, click Launch GUI, and open the Companion web page

2. After opening the Companion webpage, find the search area on the right side of the webpage and search

3. Enter http in the search box, then find the option Generic:HTTP Requests in the drop-down list and click the add button to add it.

4. After adding successfully, you can see the successfully added http request instance in the middle part of the webpage, which means the connection is successful

5.Click Buttons above and select the area where you want to create the button, then click the Create button on the right side of the webpage to create it.

6. Regarding the settings of the recording function, you can click to select post action.

7. According to the content in the API documentation, fill in the URL and Body into the corresponding boxes. Please refer to Chapter 17 in the API document.

8. Please add the start recording interface in the press action, add the stop recording interface in the release actions, and add the desired recording time in the release actions delay. For example, if you need to record for one hour, please fill in 3600000ms in delay.

9. After completing the above settings, click the Test button to start or stop recording.

10. Click import/export above to export the configuration file.

11.Click the Companion settings interface, make sure that StreamDeck is allowed to control the camera in Companion and restart Companion.

12.Install and download the Stream Deck APP.

13.Connect the Stream Deck directly to computer.

14.Click to open the StreamDeck plugin store, search and download the companion plugin

15.After the installation is successful, the Companion icon will appear on the right side of Stream Deck. Click the Companion iconand drag it to the desired button.

16.Uncheck Dynamic Pages and enter the number of pages, rows, and columns for the desired button.

Method 2：

• Please download the companion configuration file, only applicable for video recording function

2. Please click import/Exportto import the downloaded file

3. Click the recording button you just imported and change the IP in the red box to the IP address of the device you need to record.

4、If you need to record a video at a fixed time, please change the delay in Record timing button to the recording time you need.

For example, if you need to record for one hour, fill in 3600000 in the red box
